It's been a good while since I found a book I couldn't put down and I certainly didn't expect this to be the one. A book about racing? What? I'm a girl who's never been much into any sort of racing, but this novel was quite the pleasant surprise. Racing takes on a whole new life with the change in setting to a futuristic time where cars all but fly through hairpin turns and over hills with a narrative that makes you sit nearer the edge of your seat with anticipation, fear, excitement, and tension. The characters are vividly imagined and take on lives of their own, I feel as though the main character, Terry "Tug" Glenman could walk off the page and sit next to me, while the flashbacks and historical references only serve to make the story and it's characters more believable. I found moments of joy, pure humor, and heart-wrenching sadness within the pages of this book and those are the things that keep you coming back to a book on your shelf (or in your Kindle). This is a wonderful first effort by T. August Green and after reading the snippet of the next book in the back, I can't wait until the next installment. So hold tight for a story about love, loss, legacy, and as the cover says, the knowledge that any dream comes with a price.Product details

This book captures the difficulties of reaching for a dream in the very dangerous sport of auto racing. Racing fans will enjoy the futuristic references to some of the greatest tracks in history. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

A thrilling work sure to take you on a trip weaving around exciting plot development after development, much like a racer on the track. The characters are rich and three-dimensional. You are sure you develop strong emotions for the numerous characters whether you're cheering them on or hissing them away.
Read along as hope and despair battle it out on and off the tracks. You won't be disappointed!
